We had received Scott’s marketing materials for about six years before we made the decision that it was time to sell our home, an 1863 former schoolhouse in which we had lived and raised our family for 30+ years. Given Scott’s expertise in historic homes and consistent, attractive marketing, he seemed the logical choice to be our realtor. The prospect of selling was intimidating and anxiety-producing, given that we hadn’t sold a house in decades. Scott was very helpful every step of the way. He advised us as to how best to present our home, timed photography and videography to occur when seasonal blooms were at their peak, created gorgeous online and hard copy presentations of the property (with his hallmark detailed information about the history of the home), and scheduled putting the house on the market most advantageously. It went on the market on a Friday. Seven showings occurred over the weekend and by Sunday evening we had received two attractive (above asking price) offers. Scott helped us evaluate the competing offers. His consistent, timely, knowledgeable communication throughout the contracting process kept us informed and able to meet all requirements without any missteps. Scott exceeded all our expectations for the selling process and helped keep home-selling anxiety at a tolerable level. We unreservedly recommend him to anyone looking to sell their historic home.
I have had the pleasure of working with Scott twice - first as a seller and now as a buyer. My partner and I just bought our dream house together, and it truly would not have happened without Scott's talent and experience, in what was still a very hot seller's market. We highly recommend him, particularly if you are a new buyer. He brings resources, skills and support throughout every step of the process. We brought a challenging scenario in which we had a long list of desires, but also needed to both reasonably be able to commute to work in Lancaster, PA and Princeton, NJ, respectively. He happily toured houses with us in at least 3 PA counties, and achieved an accepted offer for us on an incredible 100 year old house with all our boxes checked at significantly below the ask. The house was sold by an estate which provided no seller's disclosure. He then also negotiated a complex set of issues that arose from the inspections. Ten out of Ten, you can't go wrong!! He will not stop until you arrive at the house you will love for years! Thank you!
We have received mailers and notes from Scott over the years. Our home dates back to the 1800s and we realized older and unique homes are Scott’s specialty. When we first met Scott we knew right away we wanted to work with him to help us market our house. Scott did research on the history of our house, he found information we didn’t know of, this information paints the story of our house and makes it an interesting marketing tool. Every new step Scott took, his research, staging, analytics and marketing, showings, offers, decisions, and closing, were so well thought out and helpful. Scott is so professional and very nice to work with, we trusted his ideas and we appreciated his expertise. Scott realizes that parting ways with a house you love and raised a family in can be bittersweet, and he was so kind helping us along. We are very grateful to have Scott help us on our journey and we are so pleased with the outcome.
We highly recommend Scott Laughlin. Scott was tremendously helpful in selling a beautiful home that was part of a family member’s estate. He led us through every step of the process, was extraordinarily patient, made helpful suggestions on the contents of the house, recommended service providers needed to deal with the contents, and was thoroughly professional. His brochure about the house was nothing short of masterful which we are sure helped sell the house quickly. We live at some significant distance from the home that we sold. Scott was very conscientious about staying in touch with us at every phase of the sale and was reassuring and supportive during a rather complex process. We cannot recommend Scott enough. He is an excellent realtor.
My wife and I have followed Scott for years because he sent out as news letter detailing the sales and purchases of homes in our neighborhood. Scott helped our daughter and her husband buy a home, then sell that home and purchase another home. We engaged Scott to sell our home in January, 2025. Scott gave us great advice as to the staging and presentation of our home for sale, and stayed in touch to monitor our progress in “decluttering” our home. Scott didn’t push us to put our home on the market. Concurrent with selling our home, we needed to purchase a new smaller home, preferably close to our daughter. We toured several homes with no success. Scott commenced a program of writing to prospective sellers of appropriate-sized homes in the area we desired. And we struck gold, finding a perfect home one block from our daughter: One day we were babysitting for our daughter and there was a knock on the door of her home. An elderly couple stood at the entrance and inquired if we were the people looking to buy a home in this neighborhood, we responded with a resounding yes! The couple told us that they first thought this was a hoax as the news drifted through the neighborhood, but they soon learned it was not and became interested in the prospect of reaching out since they were moving into assisted living. We exchanged phone numbers and made arrangements for our respective realtors to speak with each other. The outcome of Scott’s hard work for a search of a house close to our daughter was a home four houses away from our daughter and her family. We are grateful to Scott for going over and beyond in finding us such a charming home so close to our family. Now we had to sell our home. Scott gave us great advice as to the price we asked for our home, reading the market perfectly. We received an “over-asking” price on the first day the home was offered and our home sold in forty-eight hours. Thank you Scott. You were honest and professional, and we had a very positive experience.
Scott is the consummate professional—he is knowledgeable about local real estate and the process of selling a home and he is proactive and responsive. Several years ago, he had helped my spouse and me to sell our home in Wayne, and we had such a good experience that we turned to him when my father passed away and it was time to sell our parents’ home. This time, Scott worked with my brother and me to walk us through each step, make recommendations on local resources to help us through the preparation of the home to go on the market, and investigate the requirements of the HOA and township. Scott was quietly supportive and respectful during this challenging time for us, and he guided us to a successful sale. Clearly, having turned to Scott twice now, I highly recommend him to anyone who is buying or selling their home!
My husband and I worked with Scott while buying our first home. At every step in the process, Scott was indispensable. Right away, he was able to anticipate our needs and wants in a home and helped us to direct our search. We have also been able to rely on him for recommendations at many points in the process (for example, our mortgage broker and home inspector) and we have had excellent experiences with these recommendations as well. After 8 months of searching, when we were finally able to close on a house, Scott's team helped us with every step. We were able to make the biggest purchase of our lives with confidence, and someone we could reach out to for any and every question (and we had a lot of questions!) My husband and I could not be more satisfied with the service we received from Scott, or with the results. We are excited to be moving into our new home!
I cannot say enough positive things about working with Scott to sell my home. He provided great advice a couple years prior regarding improvements to consider making before the sale. As a first seller under the new 2024 Real Estate broker laws, Scott was well prepared for the process changes. He was extremely patient in explaining the impact of the changes in law throughout the process. His photos were incredible. His experience and network positioned us to make a quick sale. He guided us through review of the multiple above-ask offers we had in less than 48 hrs. He made the closing process smooth and without incident. He was prompt and gracious every step of the way. And very fun to hang out with! We couldn't have been more pleased with the end result, which was a record high sale price in my town. Highly highly recommend working with Scott! We hope to work with him again!
What a GREAT experience!! If you are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable agent, one who is very responsive and will 100% be your advocate, Scott Laughlin is your person. Not only did he help us in locating our home sweet home in Glenside, ten years later he helped us to sell that same home in less than TWO days! He made us feel like we were a great team, listened to and valued our input, and gave us great piece of mind. HIGHLY recommend!!!
In a word: incredible. Scott has a keen understanding of his buyers, properties, and the communities of Greater Philadelphia. Scott worked with me as a first-time home buyer with an interest in older homes and plans to move my family back to the neighborhoods I called "home" growing up. Scott swiftly landed appointments to see properties as soon as they opened. He brought a trained eye to locate issues in a property as well as opportunities to re-envision spaces. When we put in an offer, his negotiation skills allowed us to secure a wonderful house amid an increasingly competitive market. Scott's appreciation for the history, charm, and architecture of homes really made the process special for us. Highly recommend!
