Janet (and Joanne) was an invaluable guide on our journey that culminated in buying a home. In our first meeting, Janet asked about our goals, and we shared what we thought our goals were (we thought we wanted to prioritize house & yard size) ... she also explained to us what a lot of the journey would look like, details we'd never heard of or thought of, like what contingencies are, what a good-faith deposit is, what considerations to consider in a lending agency, etc. ... we were starting from near zero. Over the next 9 months, Janet showed us many houses, wrote up a number of bids for us (which eventually culminated in the successful one, after we had sufficiently recalibrated our budget), consistently gave us sage and prescient advice, and was a calming and knowledgeable resource who never ran out of patience nor was ever remotely pushy or judgmental.Over the course of those 9 months, we realized that size was less important to us and location was more important to us than we had originally thought, and Janet adjusted recommendations accordingly. When we finally made a successful offer and went through the process of closing, Janet's experience and attention to detail made things easy on us. She also recommended contractors, painters, locksmiths, etc., who could help us get a little work done on the house before we move in. Just an incredibly helpful (and pleasant!) person all around.I'd recommend Janet to anyone looking for an agent in the East Bay.
