Shawn has a great talent of both making you feel excited about the process while also having a steadying presence in the midst of such big decisions as buying your first home. He was so skilled at helping us figure out where our "walk away" line was early on so that we knew what was worth sticking it out with in negotiations. Instead of pushing us towards a quick decision, he really helped us to think things through so we could feel confident when the right house came along.
One thing we really appreciated was how clearly he communicated the next steps throughout the process. We got thoughtful emails outlining what was coming up, what we needed to do, and what to expect next. This was so helpful so that there were no surprises or last-minute scrambling, especially as first time home buyers who are unfamiliar with this process!
Lastly, I'm a chronic overthinker and Shawn was really great at gently helping me to pull apart the differences between "this is a fair concern to think through" and "yeah, you might be overthinking this one" while still letting me come to my own conclusions on things. He had great questions that honestly I'm probably going to use in other life situations as well!
