Having spent over 30 years serving the needs of home buyers and sellers as the owner and operator of a Century 21 franchise in Mason, Michigan, Rick Van Houten has developed an unparalleled level of expertise in real estate. Originally from Mason, Michigan, Rick graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in business management, and has since earned the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Graduate of Realtors Institute (GRI) designations. Rick relocated to Punta Gorda in 2010, where he specializes in waterfront properties and continues to provide clients with his extensive knowledge in new construction properties, single-family homes and condominiums in all price ranges. Community service has always been a part of Rick’s commitment to helping others. Throughout his tenure as a professional, he has served as: president and board member of local United Way; a member of his Chamber of Commerce for over 30 years; a charter member of the local Rotary International Club; a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for 25 years; a member of the Century 21 Mid-Michigan Brokers Advisory Council for 30 years; a chairperson for his local public school’s community organizational forum; a member of the national, state and local boards of Realtors for over 30 years; a member of various committees and fundraisers for high school athletics.Rick and his wife, Bev, have been married for 44 years and have three children. In his spare time, Rick enjoys playing golf and tennis.
