Peggy Johnston was our real estate agent for five real estate transactions in the last several years: she sold our home in the tree section of Manhattan Beach, found and facilitated purchase of a new home in Rancho PV, facilitated a rental in Manhattan Village in Manhattan Beach, sold our Rancho PV home, and introduced us to the developer of our home now being constructed in Manhattan Beach and helped us through the legal process of that contract. In every case, she did a superb job. She did a thorough assessment of market conditions for each transaction individually, set a price for the home sales that maximized our returns, staged and prepped our homes for sale, listened to our concerns and the market challenges. She is thorough, a professional acknowledged by her peers in the area, and a pleasure to work with. Most recently, she facilitated sale of our PV home in a single day at a price substantially above the asking price. We had slight differences with her on a couple of issues in selling our Rancho PV house (to stage or not to stage the house for selling, and a difference in the asking price); she convinced us of her position on both issues, and we wound up agreeing to her recommendation. In both cases, she was proven correct, resulting in a higher sale price and minimum hassle for us. We are two retired business professionals, one a senior exec at Northrop Grumman and the other a full professor at UCLA Anderson's School of Management. We have recommended Peggy enthusiastically to friends and colleagues and will continue to do so.

Peggy and her son Peter (in business together) were terrific in buying our new house and selling our old house. We got to know Peggy and Peter while looking for a house to meet our (very specific) desires. Peter saw a new house for sale near the area we were looking and said, “this would be perfect for them”. He was right. Peggy arranged for us to see the house, and we fell in love with it. Buying a house these days is not simple. The number of legal documents to be reviewed (especially for a new house in a Home Owners’ Association) is daunting as is the entire process: the negotiations with the seller, disclosures, the escrow process, and multiple types of inspections, moving, maintenance, etc. Peggy is incredibly knowledgeable; she guided (hand-held is more accurate) us through the process right through the final settlement. Peggy had great recommendations for movers, housekeepers, inspectors, etc. which were all very valuable. Peter was there whenever we needed help in meeting people (inspectors and installers) at the house and also knows the business well; he also has great taste in houses. They are both terrific and work very well together as a team. When it came time to sell our old house immediately after moving into our new house, Peggy and Peter were there for us. They managed the entire process, from timing and price determination, to cleaning and painting the house, “staging” the house for sale to get a better price, conducting open houses (of which there were only two since the house sold very quickly – Peter and Peggy priced the house very accurately), to receiving the offers (primary and backup), negotiating the sale price and conditions, going through and closing escrow, and, again, reviewing and signing all the legal documents. They are both very knowledgeable, about the process as well as the real estate market in our buying and selling locations. Again, they were terrific. The bottom line is that we could not have done the whole thing without Peggy and Peter. We highly recommend them, individually and as a team, for selling and buying a home. We love our new home.
