He asked questions, learned what we liked and didn't like in a house, showed us many houses in various areas, price ranges, different features, and learned what we were looking for. He was patient, communicated often and clearly, and went above and beyond to help us find the right house. We were so confident in him, that we ended up purchasing a house simply on a video tour and our confidence that he knew it was what we were looking for. We have already told him this personally via email but it bears repeating if others will read it and choose Mickey as their agent. We have no reference point to know how hard (or easy) it is to handle an overseas client. What we do know is what we tell people here in Australia all the time: We could NEVER have done this without a person WE trusted 100% on the other side. Mickey's willingness to point out every little flaw in each house was the most comforting thing he could have done. We knew that Mickey was hiding nothing, and without us being physically there, that is exactly what we needed in order to proceed confidently. Mickey's recommendations and local insights were valuable until the very end of the process. While we did get frustrated from time to time, it was certainly never with him. We don’t think anyone could go through the process internationally without some frustration, but we can only imagine how much more it would have been without Mickey on our side. If there is a small niche for a specialist in overseas buyers, it should belong to Mickey. At the end of it all, Mickey absolutely excelled at his job. From the early morning (for him) and late night video house tours (for us), we were able to really see what our options were and that is a priceless advantage he gave to us. We would shout from the mountain tops - if you are in the market to buy or sell, he's your guy!
Mickey was a great support. As I live overseas it was a bit more complicated but he was able to advise and also provide support to my mother who was the tenant. I would definitely recommend Mickey to anyone looking for a real estate agent in the Roanoke area.

Mickey Garland was our agent and helped us to turn 4 family properties in about 7 to 8 weeks. It was a very tight and time sensitive process and Mickey was there every time we needed him.
