Buying property anywhere when you live far away is a challenge. Buying property in Steamboat from afar has even more layers of intricacy to add to the complexity - what rental zone, if any, is the property in? What are the positives and negatives of each area (purely residential, on the mountain, in town…)? How do we handle inspections, lawyers, pre-closing checklists and the actual closing if we can’t be there? The best answer is to work with Marci and Zach Valicenti. Their insight and attention to detail was invaluable in figuring out all of the above. Working with two people who have either lived in Steamboat for decades, or were born and raised there, offered a perspective that really helped us narrow down our choices. When we initially met, we thought our timeline would be years rather than the actual months before we found a property that suited us.
