Additionally, the real estate market I was attempting to enter was incredibly fluid at the time. Fortunately I found Lisa who understood the challenges I was confronting and worked tirelessly to not only help me overcome innumerable obstacles but more importantly took pains to make sure she understood what I both needed and wanted in a home. Lisa was always available to offer information in a measured way helping me understand the dynamics of the many and various neighborhoods open to me. Having taken the time to understand what I am looking for she was able to help me focus on the areas where I would ultimately be most comfortable. This was particularly important as I had limited time to come to North Carolina to look at properties; I hadn’t a minute to waste. I had also sold my residence in New Hampshire so time really was “of the essence.” Lisa was willing to devote basically an entire weekend to showing me the homes that we had discussed prior to my arrival. She was also flexible enough to adjust this process; we added properties on the fly and she was able to get us in to see them; one of which was ultimately the property I would purchase. After the offer I can’t say enough about her devotion to making sure that everything was done carefully, appropriately and in a timely manner. As I was still living in NH she attended every inspection for me; emailed documents and whatever else I needed to keep the deal progressing. Above and beyond all of these things she made sure I understood all of the applicable local real estate laws and regulations. Also important, she helped me understand the business culture in NC. Ignorance of “how things are done” locally can often make a deal unravel; understanding the local culture can make all the difference. My experience in business has led me to believe that the best deals are always the deals where everyone is happy with the result; I can definitively state that this was the case with this home purchase and sale.
