James purchased his first home, a fixer-upper, at the age of 21 and soon after decided to pursue a career in real estate. First licensed in Georgia in 1995, he worked with Atlanta's Buckhead Brokers, where he earned their Rookie of the Year award and quickly became a top-producing agent. In 1998, James became a Georgia Associate Broker and accepted a new role focused on the adaptive reuse and conversion of historic commercial buildings, warehouses, and apartments to residential condominiums. Here, he and his colleagues represented developers from concept to closing in Atlanta’s burgeoning condominium sector. James returned to his native Texas in 2005 and worked and volunteered with several Dallas non-governmental and nonprofit agencies focused on animal welfare, public health, social services, and community and economic development while earning his bachelor’s and master's degrees at the University of Texas at Arlington. In 2014, he was awarded a Master of Arts in Urban Affairs and Public Policy. Now a top-producing agent at Ebby Halliday Realtors, James is proud to hold the designation Advanced Historic House Specialist, awarded by Preservation Dallas. He has also received the At Home With Diversity designation from the National Association of Realtors along with certification from the Texas Real Estate Commission as a Texas Affordable Housing Specialist. In 2022, he formed The Fairchild Group, where he and his team continue to provide exceptional service to homebuyers, homeowners, and investors across North Texas. James and his husband live in the Oak Cliff community of Dallas where they tend to their flock of chickens and numerous beloved cats and dogs and have recently completed the restoration of their mid-century home near Kiest Park. James remains deeply committed to community causes, volunteering regularly and serving on the boards of several Dallas-based nonprofit organizations.
