Elizabeth has been in the real estate business since 2003 when she took a leap into property investments and never looked back. She joined Blanchard and Calhoun in 2016 and handles property management and residential, commercial and land sales in the Burke County and the Greater Augusta area. A lover of Southern downtowns and historic homes and halls, she has served on the Waynesboro Downtown Development Authority since 2005 and has trained through the University of Georgia’s Fanning Institute and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs’ Main Street Program. She also serves on the Downtown Development of Retailers, which promotes small business and community events like Christmas on Liberty Square and Movies Under the Stars. After watching a Food Network special in 2004, Elizabeth organized the first Boss Hog State Championship Cook-off in Waynesboro and continues to serve as team coordinator and a professional judges’ assistant for the Kansas City Barbeque Society competition. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Georgia Southern University and a former high school English teacher. She is also a freelance writer and has been recognized by the Georgia Press Association 29 times for excellence in journalism for feature writing and investigative reporting. As a longtime volunteer, she has served as fundraising chair and programs chair for Communities and Schools, publicity chair for the Burke County Public Library Foundation and public spokesperson for the Burke County EMA during Plant Vogtle emergency drills. Elizabeth enjoys fishing and educational travels and, especially, a combination of the two. Among her favorites was a trip to University of Alaska at Anchorage where she fished for trout and earned her certification in Earthquakes and Tsunamis 101 from the college’s geology department. She has two adult sons and one teenage son and loves spending time on her family farm. And, yes … she can drive a tractor.
