We listed my parent's home with Donna Augello late last year after both of my parents unexpectedly had health issues and needed a quick move into assisted living. With so much going on the family was nearly overwhelmed with caring for our parents. I took on the job of finding a real estate agent to get the house sold. I really lucked out finding Donna and her team. There were a lot of challenges in that the house next door was also on the market not to mention that we were in a weakening market. The house was good, but had not been kept up to standards that would attract buyers. Donna made excellent recommendations and referrals for readying the house. I also knew of some good contractors. The whole experience was that of project management and scheduling. First, we had the outside of the house repaired and painted. Next, determining items that family members wanted. Then an Estate Sale. The day after the Estate Sale, was a gigantic chartable pickup. The next day was Junk Hauler. With the house cleared, painters moved inside and painted with lighter paint (Donna's recommended paint sample). Donna also inventoried all of the light fixtures that had many burned out bulbs and others unmatched color temp. She figured everything out and even sent over a sample of a Home Depot order to change out these bulbs. We literally ordered boxes of various types of bulbs to fix this problem. Next, the carpet people came in and with Donna's help, we chose a shade of carpet that would brighten the rooms. Finally, Donna's staging people did their part. The transformation of the house was incredible! Everything was lighted up, bright, and clean! It looked like a brand new model home. With the house ready, Donna moved fast. The Caravan took place quickly. She began showing the house. Though a weak market, it wasn't too long before we had some interest. Eventually, we had a serious buyer, but they were proposing all sorts of contingencies. Donna explained all the implications of each contingency and talked me through a better understanding of everything that was going on. The back and forth between us and the buyer was a little difficult, but Donna made it manageable. I had hoped to sell quickly, but realistically thought it might not sell until well into the next year. The house next door had been on the market for a long time and was not getting bites. With hard work, Donna made things happen and we had it sold before Thanksgiving.
