Caroline did an amazing job of getting our house ready, showing it, and selling it!In selling our house, Caroline used hard work, creativity and tenacity to overcome several challenges: distance, years of deferred remodeling, and the coronavirus shutdown. DistanceThe three of us inherited the house from our mother, but none of us were actually living in Cupertino – in fact two of us are on the East Coast, 3000 miles and 3 time zones away! Caroline was always available to respond to a text or email in the early hours despite the time difference, and organized her communications to accommodate our schedules. There were a lot of disclosures and closing documents, and Caroline made all of them available for e-signing. When our mother passed away, the house was filled with 45 years of furniture, dishes, mementos, and all the other things that make up a household. Caroline worked with us to claim what we wanted to keep, and organized an estate liquidator to sell or donate the rest. Mom also had a roommate/caregiver, and Caroline canvassed her network for leads on a new situation for her – one of which turned out to be a perfect fit! RemodelingMom and Dad redid the kitchen in the 1990s, and made some upgrades during the 1980s, but basically the house hadn’t changed much since we moved in in 1973. Caroline knew exactly who to call, and assembled a crew to re-do the floors, powerwash the exterior, paint the interior, replace windows, open up the atrium entryway, repair the deck and more. Since we’re so far away, Caroline did all the hands-on management and sent us progress photos. After the remodeling was done, Caroline hired a staging company and they provided furnishings that made the house beautiful! For all the remodeling, Caroline facilitated billing, so we were easily able to get the workers’ invoices and send checks. CoronavirusWhen the Bay Area first shut down, we thought we’d have to wait several months before getting going with the remodeling, staging and showing. But Caroline was determined! She researched the laws with the county health department and got permission to have one worker at a time on the property. Then she scheduled everyone to get the work done while maintaining social distancing. For showings, she juggled all the schedules to get lots of prospective buyers in, all in different time slots to keep everyone safe. The result? We got almost a dozen offers, all over the list price. The couple who bought the house are very nice, and we think the neighbors will just love them! Commitment Caroline has put in a lot of effort over the years to know the neighbors and the neighborhood. She’s become a good friend and has given intelligent recommendations for repairs and other work, all of which have resulted in successful, long term relationships. She wasn't just out for the best, fastest deal, but a buyer who would also fit in the neighborhood. Throughout the process, Caroline showed dedication, did a great job of communicating with us, and really exceeded our expectations. We recommend her very highly! Leslie, Camille and Anne Roberts
