I'm writing...to sing the praises of Carol Hollyday, who during my time in New Canaan: found a rental so that my family could settle in, found a home so my family could enjoy our lives there, and sold that home for me when our time to move on had arrived. When we first began to look for a home in New Canaan, we desperately needed someplace quickly. We had already sold our previous home in Harrison, NY, and needed to find a place within 60 days. More importantly, it was early August and school would begin soon, so we needed to be able to enroll our three sons before the school year started. Carol showed us everything available, including rentals. After showing us all of the available homes that met our requirements, she asked which of them did I want to bid on? I'm sure my answer, "none of them", was disheartening for her, but she helped us close an appropriate rental with the objective of re-starting the search the following spring. It didn't take that long. In November she found the perfect home for us. I literally took two steps into the house and knew it was the place for my family. Carol helped us to negotiate a fair price with the seller and we closed on that house in December of that year.Over the years that we lived in New Canaan, Carol was immensely helpful in getting us settled, introducing us at the Country Club of New Canaan, keeping tabs on how our sons were doing in school and sports. It was as if she was our guardian angel, guiding us to have the best possible experience while enjoying our new home.Of course, children grow up. And our home became too big for just my wife and me. A job opportunity in Boston came up, and we listed the house with Carol. About three weeks after listing, it became apparent that a near term move was not in our best interest and we pulled the listing. I'm sure that was very frustrating for Carol, but she always told me to do what was best for me. Some six months later, circumstance would allow us to move on from our home. Carol found a buyer in a day. One Day. So, she's the best realtor, ever, and I've had a lot of experience moving around.
