Christie Melear SRES® | Real Estate Consultant Legacy Knowledge. Mindful Transitions. Living the WNC Lifestyle For me, Western North Carolina isn't just a market; it's a playground and a sanctuary. Whether I'm rafting down our rivers, hiking through the Blue Ridge, or sharing the wonders of nature with my grandchildren, I live the lifestyle I help my clients find. Having called Buncombe County home since 1992, I understand the unique rhythm of life that exists between the quiet country acreage and the vibrant cultural hubs of Asheville and Hendersonville. From Small Farms to Smooth Transitions My background is rooted in the land. As a former horse farm owner and developer assistant for local communities like Ashbrook and Bridgewater, I possess a "dirt-under-the-fingernails" understanding of acreage, equine properties, and conservation. Today, I've pivoted that same passion toward helping Active Retirees as a Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES®). I've found that many of my clients are ready to trade the maintenance of a large estate for a more manageable, mindful lifestyle. My forte is guiding you through this transition-helping you prepare your home for the market with accurate data and navigating the downsizing process with a solution-oriented approach. Why Partner With Me? Real estate allows me to blend my love for our beautiful land mountains with my commitment to land stewardship and mindful development. When you work with me, you're gaining a consultant who prioritizes: Strategic Listening: Your vision is the blueprint for our success. Deep Research: I dive into the details of land use and market trends so you don't have to. Thoughtful Negotiation: With a background in commercial development and property management dating back to 1984, I bring decades of "at-the-table" experience to your transaction. My goal is simple: To ensure that whether you are buying your first mountain farm or selling a cherished family estate, the process is handled with care, organization, and a commitment to your individual goals. Professional Snapshot Local Resident: Buncombe County since 1992. Specializations: SRES® (Seniors Real Estate Specialist), Small Farms, Equine Properties, and Private Estates. Legacy Experience: Former Owner/Partner of Melear Enterprises Investment Properties; Developer Assistant for the residential communities of Ashbrook & Bridgewater. Education: Ongoing studies in Somatic Education (bringing a calm, balanced perspective to high-stakes negotiations). Community Service: Mission Hospital Pet Therapy team, Board Member of Buncombe County Land Conservation Advisory Board 2005-2917
